Stag scales??

Seems like you don't see many Stag handled vintage knives. Did they not make as many or was it not a popular handle material? Was it not available? Just curious.

I think just the opposite, particularly production from Europe.

Vintage Italian stilettos were almost exclusively made with cow horn.

The vintage knives did have mostly horn but there were quite a few of them made with stag. Check out the old turn of two centuries ago German and American autos (not the common small bo/c ones but the more hefty ones). Those ones almost always had stag.
