Re: Your oldest Latama?
True, but perhaps the same could be said about picklocks in general. I've yet to see one cloned and wind up on dhgate or ebay or a flea market, although I fear that day is coming.
However uncommon, the stigma around that stamp is just marketing, which feels weird to say about a product produced 70+ years ago. You can have Mario and a Latama same size same condition same scales basically the same knife side by side and the Latama is $300 more because of the stamp. I believe some variation in overall heftiness exists in some Latamas but this can also be found with other stamps.

I know what you mean Chris,I had that Latama for a very long time, however I know that it went not only to a good home but to a very good friend.JulesVane wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 2:40 amI've always loved that 8" Latama Kris blade you have there Luke! There's just something about that one.Luke_of_Mass wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 12:45 am My only Latama ... which a good friend Eric (Rock and Roll $$$$) sold to me after my rather disappointing snafu with Walt's "Latamas" in Autumn of 2018. It wouldn't be until February 2019 and a visit to the Gator show that I learned Latamas in general aren't really all that rare, they're just expensive

Also, I understand your point, Luke.

Mistakes are like knives. They can help us or they can hurt us. It all depends on whether we grab ‘em by the handle or by the blade.

As requested, here are photos of my 13” picklock closed. Obviously, I’m still working on my photography skills.

Thanks, sammy the blade... As for me, my glasses are fairly new. I think I need new eyes.

Might be why you think your pictures aren't good. Believe me I'm no expert on photography but your pictures look fine to me.WheelingWV wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 9:44 pm Thanks, sammy the blade... As for me, my glasses are fairly new. I think I need new eyes.
