Some nice examples there Maltese Flatguard - really like the smaller stag knife. My 13" stag was bought on Ebay USA, where it came from before that I do not know, unfortunately.

...I'm a bit confused about "where it was found". As I can only imagine, these knives end up all over the world.

True but if you start seeing half a dozen or a dozen all come from the same place...just like if you lived outside of the USA and you started finding Latamas over and over in the USA, you could bet they were shipped here.
Personally I’ve never heard of one found in Canada or England...

Re: Rostfrei Import tang stamp and 1 on back tang
I have seen several that came from England and Canada marked "Foreign.".
I'm not saying the ones marked "Rostfrei Import" were not sent to Germany- but why mark them with the English "Import?" And, why are so many knives that were obviously imported to Germany NOT marked "Import?"

Seems pretty common if you are a collector.Bill DeShivs wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 12:49 am I have seen several that came from England and Canada marked "Foreign.".

Many say Rostfrei Import or Rostfrei Patent or Rostfrei Italy. All forms of English words. So nothing too uncommon if you keep you eyes open...Bill DeShivs wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 12:49 am I have seen several that came from England and Canada marked "Foreign.".

I would imagine I'm a collector, Charley. I have about 500 knives here. I have been collecting knives since before you were born.
Why aren't all the German stilettos marked "Import?"

You tell me...maybe there were laws put in place for time to time. I believe I made my case while you keep denying it.

I know I have been collecting knives for over 50 years.
I'm not denying anything- I'm questioning.
You seem to have to be right.

"Import" in German is also spelled "import" as is it in Dutch.

And by looking at the last picture......I love wood and brass...hope to find a 13" one day. In Europe they are hard to find with just a few resources here.

Re: Rostfrei Import tang stamp and 1 on back tang
Don’t some of those knives marked Rostfrei Import have blades that are too long for German import laws?
