French Vendetta

Post by orangeboy »

Here is a very rare - I’ve only seen three - French Vendetta pattern switchblade. What makes it even cooler is the etched blade and embossed handle.

The mini is an Italian made version.

Thanks! I figure everyone likes to call me “boy” or “orangechild” because of my screen name, I’ll let the knives and info do the talking.

Funny, some people have known me for years and never took the time to even ask what the Orangeboy name means but they sure like to make fun of it. Lol.

Just to be clear, I posted a link to a picture orangeboy posted in this forum. I wouldn't want him to sue me for unauthorized sharing of his property...lol

Looks similar to a Russian one. Is it coil spring fired?

I am pretty sure I see a leaf spring in the larger black one. And any knife with the button through the pivot like the smaller one would have to have a leaf spring.

Hey Jeremy - I have one of these and mine actually has two leaf springs. The setup is the same as a couple of other small knives that I have.

Does it have something like the two Mikov springs?

Not sure what Mikov springs look like as I don't own one or seen Mikov knives in person. But I have attached a picture showing the springs of the Vendetta springs as they sit in the knife well.

Yeah, that is what the two spwing Mikovs look like. Some of the Medicis with the AKC stamp have two springs. I don't know why they do the springs like that. At first I thought maybe they did it because it was easier to temper the thinner metal. But the people who make AKCs and Mikovs would surely have not had problems like that.

Stamping thin parts is a lot easier than stamping thick parts.

I hadn't considered they would stamp kicksprings. Was it really easier to stamp them then to just bend a straight section of steel?
