Please Help ID this Strange Pressbutton Sawback
I just received this heavy duty switchblade. The spring is not a solid steel spring but a regular spring attached to a thin band of Stainless Steel that pulls the blade open. The Blade is thick SS with an original sawback that is very sharp. On one side I can read 'Deer' on the other I can barely make out 'Steel Corp'. Can anyone help? It's performance is great, fast smooth release and lockup, press button unlock. ,

Wow,that's a new one on me. Looks home-made.
Keep checking back, someone here may know something about it.
The frame and scales look very well done and judging by the wear and tear on the frame looks to have been around awhile.
Excellent drawing! Seriously,it really shows how the knife functions. Very cool

Hello tbd63,
Looks like one of a kind to me. Great find for sure. I love seeing these usual firing mechanisms. Your blue print shows it all. The knife itself looks great, nice scales! I would think you'd need a sheath for that knife only because the saw back could eventually cut its way through your pocket.

I believe it to be a “Russian prison knife”. Same spring mechanism as in mine. Very cool find!

A Russian Prison Knife makes sense, It came from Latvia. It is really nicely made. Thanks everyone for looking and commenting.

Nice handmade knife that you have
Re: Please Help ID this Strange Pressbutton Sawback
It says "Deer" on the blade, possibly because of the rear bolster resembles a "deer foot" or the deer antler scales. Just a thought

I updated the drawing to show the cool Button/Lock assembly made out of a chain link.
