Re: Movie Switchblades
The Gemini man better be using the double action 110.

Next time you hear someone praising the historical accuracy of The Irishman, show them this scene which takes place around 1957.

Re: Movie Switchblades
I was pretty disappointed in "The Irishman" all the way around. I had high hopes (and expectations).

Re: Movie Switchblades
That is it a swivel release in 1957. They were pick locks back then, mostly bayonet blades...

Re: Movie Switchblades
Thanks, Tom. Couldn't really tell that it was a swivel bolster. A bigger monitor might help.
If you check out the Goofs section of IMDb for this flick (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1302006/go ... =tt_trv_gf), you will see there were MANY inaccuracies of all kinds. This particular one did not make the list. Some movies try more than others for authenticity. However, it can be taken to extremes. Moreover, a lot of the Goofs would only be picked up by persons who have a lot of knowledge about and interest in somewhat arcane subjects. I guess we qualify....

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull makes a similar mistake.JimBrown257 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 3:34 am Next time you hear someone praising the historical accuracy of The Irishman, show them this scene which takes place around 1957.
You can even see Shia moving the bolster.

Re: Movie Switchblades
I agree. Most folks would have no clue and most would not know what a picklock is, either. I bet members of my own family don't know what a picklock is even though they know I collect switchblades.natcherly wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 12:13 pm Thanks, Tom. Re: Movie Switchblades
Lol, those goofs lists find the tiniest mistakes, like spelling errors in fake newspaper articles only seen in the background. But I have never seen one of those lists notice a knife mistake.natcherly wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 12:13 pm If you check out the Goofs section of IMDb for this flick (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1302006/go ... =tt_trv_gf), you will see there were MANY inaccuracies of all kinds. I had one of these cloned clones! It had the actual bell stamp logo on tang very prominent. Someone lifted this from me!
