In the 1984 Supergirl movie, one of the generic redneck bad guys had some sort of guardless Italian picklock. I am not sure what the exact knife is.

Always wondered exactly what kind of Rizutto Bender had. It definitely was very sturdy since he could stab it into a wooden desk. Could it be that Bender had an authentic actual Italian Rizutto. I’m thinking yes, plus I heard it wasn’t a movie prop either, that he owned the switchblade and carried it for protection.

The knife Bender has is the 9" smooth handle Korean Bell. They were made at that time and sold in every Tijuana trinket store. It's the same knife as in Stand By Me and Three O'Clock High (that movie had the 10" version like the pic from Dark Angel at the top of this page). The original lockbacks (Japanese, not Italian) had pretty soft steel; almost as soft as the standard Rizzuto. Those Koreans, on the other hand, had surprisingly hard steel. Though, I would guess the table he stuck it into was a prop made of softer than normal wood.

I just recently received a 32-film blu ray box set of the films of filmmaker AL Adamson. I've already seen more Rizzuto Estileto Milano switchblades featured in his filmography than any other filmmaker's resume I can think of on earth. From 7" to 11" And so far, always a rizzuto. In one title, "Satan's Sadists" (1969) an 11" lockback! It's used as a throwing knife to kill Russ Tamblyn playing an evil biker gang leader...who was already one of the original switchblade movie stars in West Side Story.
Add to this, one of the films "The Female Bunch" being shot partially at spahn ranch while manson and his family were living there! (an actress ogling manson had to be physically removed from one set). In this movie, there's even a scene of a guy, again Russ Tamblyn, getting a cross branded onto his forehead (manson was inspired by witnessing the filming of this scene?). A very freaky and interesting collection! Some titles never even saw a vhs release back in the day. Dead and buried after brief drive-in & grindhouse theater stints. Great stuff!

The Adamson collection really is the companion set to the Disney collection, which I see you also have.

Yes, agreed! But only the earlier, live action Disney. He competed with them during their rut. So, there's also a couple wacked out children/family movies in Adamson's collection. I haven't seen one yet. Not expecting benji. But if there's a rizzuto in one of these. Some rail hobo or something. I will be sure to mention here! To join Dennis the Menace

There was an old Donald Duck cartoon where the three nephews (so old I don't think they had names yet) were in a car and they each pulled out an American auto. They were like Imperial toothpicks but with very little definition. I have been trying to find that scene for years.

I was just looking over this thread and wow! Love the research and attention to detail you all have paid in regards to all these switchblades that have popped up in movies!

Saw some I totally forgot about. There are a few I noticed missing though.

Thought I might add...

Naked Massacre (1976) There’s a 15” Stiletto in this one.
Prey (aka Alien Prey) (1977) There’s a 13” Stiletto in this.
Eyes of a Stranger (1981) The killer uses a stiletto in one scene.
Graduation Day (1981) The principal opens a desk drawer full of knives and I think uses some kind of switchblade to cut an apple.
Liquid Sky (1982) There’s a Rizzuto in this.
Smithereens (1982) There’s a stiletto in one scene.
Vice Squad (1982) 13” Stiletto.
Disconnected (1983) There’s a red Super Automatic OTF in this.
Angel (1984) The killer uses a Rizzuto in this one.
Igor and the Lunatics (1985) Somebody has what appears to be a 16” AGA Sicilian in this one.
Spine (1986) The killer uses a stiletto in this.
House 2: The Second Story (1987) There’s a Rizzuto in this.
Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) There’s a stiletto in this.

Hope this helps!
