The folding guard knives are being counterfeited. I believe the 2 pictured are Italian.
Thanks for the confirmation, Bill. I'm feeling much better about my 2 AKC's.

He won't be on call for me when I'm making a decision at a knife show, so I'll play it safe. Speaking of playing it safe, probably will be several years before I feel safe enough to go back to knife shows...lol

Thank you all for great info. The knife did not sell so I am just thinking of getting it for "study" purpose.

JulesVane wrote: Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:58 am AKC never made a stiletto of the classic/traditional style.

When AKC started in roughly 2001, Angelo bought less than 500 blank tang pieces from Renzo Beltrame and etched them AKC.

So if I understand correctly, none of those original 500 were stilettos....? They were all leverlocks?
Renzo Beltrame doesn't make levers so they'd be stilettos

"AKC never made a stiletto of the classic/traditional style"

"Renzo Beltrame doesn't make levers so they'd be stilettos"

Could somebody please clarify this contradiction....???

Not sure but I think there was some contracting out to each other, seems like it came up years ago on a thread but I could be wrong.
