Re: Renzo pascotto prototype
Congrats Jason, that is a great piece!!! It is what it says. A prototype from right around the time the batwings came out. It may be the batwing proto or one that came out shortly after to look at other styles. It's easily 10 years old, maybe a few more. I almost bought that exact knife 5-6 years bu...

Re: Walt's 13"
Horn on the middle one is outstanding. I remember a dozen or so years ago when Walt had these on his site. Thought they looked cool but were so expensive. Wish I bought 10 now. I have a stag and it's one of my favorite knives.

Re: New Frank B swing Guard??
They are coming straight from Italy like this and I believe right from Frank, was offered one a few months ago from a friend in Italy, I'm kinda like Jim D and like my swinguards from the 60's. But I did have to think about it as they are pretty sharp looking knives.

Re: 17cm Kris Rosco
Very cool Thom! The 50's stuff really isn't my forte but I think you could put that one around 1955 give or take a year or so. Also think it would be considered a 7" knife or 18cm which was the smallest size kris made back then? (question for you picklock guys) Rare knife as you don't see many small...

Re: Vintage Keychain Mini Switchblades
Rob great score on those Asian minis!!! Two two older pinned Japanese are getting more rare every day and some of my favorites. Never seen one with the Hong Kong stamp on the rear either, very cool!

Re: Vintage Keychain Mini Switchblades
Here is the latest group shot I have of my minis. Took this about a year ago and have added a few more since. Every knife in this group is different whether it's a scale material, stamp, body style, etc. No doubles, except for the set on card in the top right but I count that as one.

Re: Vintage Keychain Mini Switchblades
I like these because they are the only mini stiletto I know of with a fishtail. Super cheaply made in Hong Kong like everyone says. My guess is pre 2000 as they have gotten much harder to find over the past couple years. There were 7cm and 10cm made, in 7cm there is also a white marble.

Re: Wasp Dagger grind
This knife was made in Maniago before Latama started importing switchblades. The brass flatguards from this period are some of my favorites.

Re: Wasp Dagger grind
Great brass flatguard, congrats!!! That's a very rare knife. A handful or so of them out there with a dagger blade and traits like yours. Only know of one that is stamped. Nice find!

Awesome Thom!!! I know you were looking for an 11" for a long time. Those three are incredible, looks like all of them could have come from the same really big cow

Re: First Knife of 2021
Two very nice additions Jules!!! So those button open/button close I think were a run of 12. 6 bayo blades and 6 swedge. So you were half right on your guess)
I need one of the regular 13" flatguards like that with Renzo's stamp.

Re: First Knife of 2021
Thanks Guy!!! and nice picklock Mike!
Jeff this one fires very strong, a new run from 2020.....Thom I used UPS and got it in just a few days. The regular international postal services have been taking forever, had a knife come from Russia that literally took 4 months.

Re: Batwing/Oval Button Stuck
Thanks Bill and Whipper...I think that thread may have been SD but couldn't find it there either. Bill I put it in front of a space heater for 5 minutes then gave it a tap on the bottom bolster and the button popped back up. Thanks! Weird, it does this certain times of year. Not humidity though, Non...

Batwing/Oval Button Stuck
I remember reading about this years ago and can't find the thread. On the 13" Campolin oval buttons and batwings when the button gets stuck, after being pushed in, is there a quick fix or does the knife need to be taken apart and some scale material removed?
