Re: Omega Import Co. 7"
More like two years with the long stamp and then three years with the shorter. It really just depends on how many were ordered and when. If laws were being passed by 1952 there certainly could have been a slowing down of orders and not like when they first started. It’s hard to say unless more recor...

Re: Omega Import Co. 7"
Thanks Maltese flatguard. So, the stamps I've seen somewhat like: Omega Leather & Novelty (something like that), were PRE- 1950? Seems there would be more 1950+ Omegas available stamped like this than the 1940's pieces. The ones with Omega Jewelry and Leather Novelty Co stamp would have been no ear...

Re: German Springer Survivors
3 unrestored, untouched German Springer survivors. Bought these around a year ago (maybe longer) and never wanted to restore them. Man the stories these knives could tell if they could speak. Bill D replaced the spring on the DRGM so it would function. Other than that all are untouched, all 3 tang ...

Re: Vintage 9" Humpback
Welcome, Chris. As I may have mentioned, I've been collecting antique slipjoints for around 30 years. There are a lot of counterfeits in that area, some very convincing, so you really have to do your homework to avoid getting burned. Sometimes, it almost feels like doing forensic analysis! Anyway, ...

Re: Are certain blade profiles restricted in France?
Many cutlery firms ordered Bayo bladed stilettos from Coltellerie Riunite (Coricama).
But it is a good observation. The swedge is a more traditional “user” style made in France for 100+ years. Plus from about 1907-1954 roughly, little to no switchblades were produced in France.
