Re: Mexican marked switchblade
Those are interesting knives. I don't know if there are any other autos made in Mexico. A lot of sold in Mexico ones but not made there. The bolsters are aluminum on steel liners so they are pinned on. Most of the ones I have seen must have peeked when they were made because the blade can't fit any ...

Re: Converting a Boot Knife Into a Switchblade
You should just make your own blades. The only additional step you would have to do is grinding the blade. All that other stuff you did is harder than that part.
What are the other projects you mentioned?

Lol, that's awesome. And that bolsterless swivel bolster seems so obvious but I don't think I have ever seen it before. Did you come up with that?

Re: 1860's German Kris switchblade
I think that drawing in the Hubertus catalog is just mean the show the backspring o/c mechanic while the blade and the handle was just the artist trying to make it look fancy.

Re: Militia property of the united states
That is a legit Dalton. It is a weird model as it really isn't like any other Daltons.
Though, "Property of United States Militia" is kinda meaningless. It pretty much means "Owned by Owner".

Dang...that guy died? Well...I guess that matter is settled. And I guess we have a pretty good idea of what he was buying with his petty thefts.

Re: Bad Seller Warning
There is a guy named Ryan (can't remember last name) in Oklahoma who pops up on TB every year or two and rips someone off. He would switch his user name after getting called out. The last name I remember was RH but he also used names like HomerSimpson and MrMojo. They were generic internet names tha...

That looks great. But I am telling you: get a stamp. If the first few you make don't have your stamp on them it is going to drive you crazy later. And once the blade is treated it can't be stamped very well.

Wow, I never knew they came in 13". The only ones I have ever seen, which weren't many, were all 8".
Did they make the other sizes too?

Based on what I have seen. About 5-10% of JPLs have scales with no cracks (unless they are rescales, which yours is not).

Re: Successfully repaired a MAGO OTF today!
That's awesome! Making a new part for a cheap DA OTF is about the hardest thing there can be to make.
This is how it starts to for most knife guys (though, usually it is something simple like a guard or a spring). Keep at it!
