Falcon, Glad to read about your functional godfather. You are absolutely right about demanding customer service from PVK. Given their prices, that is what their competitive advantage (along with selection) has to be. Mr_Guano, I do hope yours arrives soon. I am preparing myself psychologically and f...

J-man,

You wrote "Hey y'all (I think I am getting a Southern accent)"

Come on down to N.C. and you can get professional training in that area.

Brass vs Steel Liners

I'm sure we have all noticed the different appearance the liners give a knife. Italian stilettos typically have brass liners, Italian leverlocks tend toward steel, Mikovs are steel, Hubertus' are brass, etc., etc. What are the implications of using brass versus steel? Here are my thoughts; please co...

Wally,

I understand your yearning for Cape Hatteras, the Outer Banks are a personal favorite of mine. Of course, this time of year the winds really blow.

Teddy,

One pack a day = $2555 per year = many nice switchblades. I'm sure you have already done the calculations appropriate for your level of consumption. Keep thinking about the new blades and good luck!

Switchblades can also aid in dieting. Sometimes when I am doing some serious reading I begin snacking on cookies. Before I know it, I have consumed way too many. Now I will click a switchblade to dissipate that nervous energy. Teddy makes a good point about the financials of quitting smoking. I'm no...

Wally, I had indeed a rude awakening when my daughter showed me the Grateful Dead CD that she bought with Christmas money, and I told her that I wanted to make a copy of it because it was one of the few that I didn't already have. What a realization of the aging process it was, as was the fact that ...

Bonz,

"Beg" is too strong a word, she sometimes asks. The resulting furor precludes any need for further begging.

JerrBear,

As always, Wally makes a good point. Personally, I like the idea of having a few threads more or less dedicated to off-topic stuff. Congratulations on starting the apparent marathon winner.

Greyblade, I have come to realize that you are a very astute contributor to our fine forum. Therefore, you have the lofty status of being one of those folks who induce eager anticipation in me when I log in and see an unread post from you. However, your statement "Your collection won't be complete u...

Regarding Toplocks, I have found those from Knives 2000 to be excellent conversions. Steve is already listed as a good one in our "Known by us in the loop" thread.
