I used a mosaik pin on the rear bolster of the leverletto. I think it looks cool :)

Thanks Jarvis. I built an electro etching machine and designed a logo. Rio is my dog, and the logo is a dog paw.

I alternated green and tan linen with clear fiberglass resin. I'll try to take some better pics.

My last four

Here are my last four knives. Sorry about the photography. Leverletto kit on top, Mikov kit next, with my own micarta scales, Next is custom slip joint with copper bolsters, diamondwood scales and 01 tool steel blade. heat treating 01 tool steel

I understand that there is a product that one can paint onto tool steel before placing the part into the furnace. It seals the o2 into the steel so the carbon doesn't leech out. Anyone know the name of this product? Bonus if you know where to get some. Thx.

David is an upstanding guy; don't worry about writing a check. The easiest way to pay is by sending funds to his bank, which is in Portland, Oregon, USA. (I live in Oregon and was able to make a counter deposit to wells fargo; David shipped the next day). Great product, and the springs can be replac...

The locking pin can be dragging on the blade tang. Nope. My poor craftsmanship is to blame. The liners were binding the blade. two .010 washers did the trick. As soon as the camera is charged, I'll post pics of the last four knives I've built; one custom slipjoint, one filet knife, a mikov kit (wit...

Blade bind?

Hi all. I am just finishing my second leverletto kit. On my first kit, the blade was tight, and once in a while it will not fully open. I thought perhaps I over peened the pivot pin. My second knife is VERY tight. I am not quite done, because it doesn’t open all of the way. I made certain not to ove...

A stunning work of art, me thinks. That one would stay in the case, and never see the fingerprints of even my bestest friends.

Hey Arthas, am pasting this from another thread: One thing I don't get: thought the numbering system was based on blade type, not handle material. In other words, xx of 55 bayos, xx of 200 daggers etc.. The 3 others I have are all bayos and marked "xx of 55 - 2007" .. The new briar, also a bayo, is...
