First Knife of 2021

A good sing a long is always fun. If anyone else wants to post what their 1st of the year is I'm sure we all would enjoy it.

Got this from Italy a couple day ago, 13" swinger with a Renzo stamp.

Re: Info on knife help please.

Good to see you Panzefaust!! My first thought from the stamp and blade was late 60's then the more I looked at the knife...the shaved stag, folded safety, long cut safety. Basically looking at the handle makes me think a bit newer

Re: Info on knife help please.

Nice knife. It's from the late 70's to early 80's in my opinion. Not a very popular time frame for collectors but a cool era for knives. It was a tough time to be buying switchblades in and you really don't see a lot from this period.

Two very nice knives! I want to say that Walt started using this stamp about the same time the Latama Legend book was released. Has that been 5 years already, wow

Re: EARLY MANIAGO SWITCHBLADE

Wayne, the book is called 'Coltelli d'Italia' and the pics are all pretty low res. There are two really fun parts to knives like this, finding them and then researching their story, you have a knife here that will be bringing you joy for a long time)

Gumball Machine Switchblades

Some great stuff being posted lately so I thought I would post one of my recently found treasures) Picked this gumball display face up on ebay from a guy selling either an old gumball machine business or collection. I've never seen one of these before, any of you guys? Anybody want to guess the age?...

Re: EARLY MANIAGO SWITCHBLADE

I couldn't find the fishtail knife that I was thinking of but did come across quite a few photo's of knives made in Scarperia that showed a fairly similar blade grind. Not saying your knife was made there just think it may be a good place to start your search. There is a cutlery museum in Scarperia,...

Re: EARLY MANIAGO SWITCHBLADE

Hello Wayne! You made an outstanding pick up there! Never saw this one before, wish it wasn't such a rare treasure or I would ask you to send it to me for a week to check it out)) It could be Maniago but I'm not so sure, it does remind me of something I've seen before. I have some old Italian knife ...

Re: Comparing Similar Picklocks

One of the best joys of the hobby comparing knives like this. Definitely a different set of tooling used so probably a different cutler

Re: A Rare Pair

These are great knives. Pardon the weird analogy but I see these as the Airstream of switchblades. Steel exterior with some nice stag paneling and everything you could ever want on the inside)
