Nickel silver casting will require some equipment that most don't have. The nickel element(one that needs highest temp) requires heat in excess of 2600 degrees F. Just my opinion, but when you get swish marks from the edge to the center, there is something badly aligned. If the knife is apart, it is worth your while to make sure that all matching surfaces are flat and smooth, the pivot is straight and the knife pinned tight when assembled. I would locate the ...

I worked to make the small case-style knife for the show and because it took a while to get it done, I only got 2 more ready to take. Reduced in size mentally, drawn out on cardboard and cut into patterns. 3 3/8" closed and 6" open. The blade is O-1 steel, the kick/back spring and lever spring are 1...

I got to handle that knife at the show on two occasions. Very nice in size and feel. The engraving is beautiful. I really liked the checker finish on the buttons....

I am ashamed to say that I never got to know a fellow knife maker from my own state. I enjoyed his work but never had the opportunity to meet him. My condolences to his family and may Gator rest in peace.
