That's O.K.. I want the "spirit" of my father's knife to be preserved. A modern, higher-grade material would have made daddy proud!

Exchanging the blade on an F. Beltrame "Fish'
F. Beltrame offers a 10" O.A.L. Fishtail Italian Picklock. I am considering having one sent to me (from the manufacturer) unassemebled. I would have the blade duplicated in D2 or ATS-34 steel, replace the pivot pin with one of a sturdier metal (e.g. titanium alloy.) I would then have something akin ...

Dear Brothers: My father was a First-Class Boatswain's mate (UDT) in the U.S. Navy. On his side, in an open-top scabbard. he carried a marlinspike with a adjustable-end wrench silver-soldered on its end. Alongside this tool he carried a 10 3/4" Italian Fishtail Picklock with a high-carbon steel blad...

Why is that? Don't they want their knives to be used as tools? A properly hardened ATS-34, 154CM or D2 steel blade would make these knives lend themselves to act as "working tools" rather than "pig stickers." I, for one, would embrace them and trumpet their use for riggers and the like. it only make...

What are the odds of getting AB coltellerie to begin manufacturing an 11" Automatic with a Standard blade manufactured in ATS-34 Steel? They already make a 9" model, Why not an 11" version? If I could get one with a horn handle I'd be really happy. (For a while.)

Just bought another GREAT "automatic!"
Ladies and Gentlemen: I just sent my Money Order off for a Buck 110 Converted to full-automatic. it may not seem like an "impressive" blade, but it will be another real "worker bee." I am planing to work as an Immigration Inspector within 6 months. As such, I'm planning to have an entire series of a...

The one and only, Fishtail Picklock! (me.) I'm glad to be here and love a great automatic. My favorite is the Fishtail Picklock Automatic! (Surprise, surprise.) I want a 10" Burn Inc handmade Italian-type Fishtail Picklock. It MUST have real horn handles and a clip-point blade made of D-2 "tool" ste...
