Re: Knife review: Hubertus (Otter) 11 cm. stag
Nice and I agree with your review. I have one just like yours and also the small and medium sizes. I think my medium one is a transitional because although it has a slip in spring, it's not firmly in place like the others and has been sliding forward. Overall, the fit and finish of the Otters is bet...

Re: S.M.Z. picklock
I have a 9 inch one with that stamp, patent number and bayonet blade. It's probably a late-1950s production.

Re: Stag Made Italy 6
My only complaint about this knife is that the edge is as dull as a butter knife. I'm thinking about adding it to my EDC rotation so any suggestions on how to get the blade honed razor sharp?

Re: Stag Made Italy 6
I think it was a shop identifying,.stamp,.I've seen it on several old stilettos over the years,.and you see 6 next to several different stamps.inox,.sometimes stainless.,also Made in Italy stamps.,You're correct 6 were sold by Cleveland cutlery.but I think it may have just been luck of the draw,.or...

Re: Stag Made Italy 6
Matt did not know that was you on FB ! lol Yep, I joined a couple of switchblade groups last year. I wish the forums were as active as they once were and Sharper Deals is about dead. I think it was on Talkblade that I saw a picture of a Made Italy 6 with stainless stamp so I'm hoping someone will c...

Stag Made Italy 6
I got this 13-inch picklock yesterday. I remember seeing another Made Italy 6 with stainless stamp either on here or Sharper Deals a while back but can't remember details.

Re: AKC Roma - Clarification of Origin
In the 1960s, the Japanese started copying American electric guitars. By the 1970s they were very good at it, and American quality was going down. Most of the American factories contracted with the Japanese to build their guitars. No one in the little Italian town of Maniago wants to make knives no...

Gun show finds
I made a good haul at a gun show today. Only one of the swing guards is marked Rizzuto and they are not mint. Blades have been sharpened and both appear to have been cleaned but lock up is tight, safeties work and most importantly, the blades sit deep and I got these for a lot less than what they we...

Re: Rizzy Confusion...
EW. Now I have to watch that terrifying flick. Though nowhere near as disturbing as Cujo or any number of his books. <wink> Thx for the tip. I think it's interesting that some of the interest in certain knives all stems from film. I gotta say, cheaply made or not, these Rizzys feel *amazing* when f...

Re: Rizzuto estileto milano knife
I am kind of wanting another Rizzuto. I used to have several of them but sold all but one when prices went crazy a few years back but the prices seemed to have leveled off. I did score this one last November.
