Krakenten:
Are the bolsters solid (not stamped)? The look like nickel silver - are they?
I kind of like the design. It looks like a knife, unlike a classic stiletto, that might make a good user with a positive lockup and substantial blade. The grooves in the bolsters could go... JB

Re: Walt's Latama Question
Does Walt/Beltrame make an 11" flatguard, bayo blade, 5mm backspring and solid nickle silver bolsters in a PICKLOCK? I think the current model is only available in a swivel bolster but I'm not sure. The pick would be perfect I think. JB

Thanks. I was thinking EDC too. I hear that the steel holds an edge exceptionally well. Do you agree? hmmm - maybe after my tax refund... JB

Gerber Covert Automatic
Does anyone own or have any experience with these? It's about 8.7" overall and has a CPMS30V stainless blade (like their 06). I've had my knife addiction under control for a while now but this thing's got me looking for a fix. One can be had for $135 or so... JB http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p7...

My wife after hearing me exclaim, came into my office, certain that she was going to catch me viewing porn. When she found out that it was your knife, I think she would have prefered porn. That is one georgous knife! ...beautiful! JB

Re: My new custom leverlock
I'm old enough to remember when "made in Japan" meant "complete crap". Then it was Taiwan and now it's China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Pakistan... China is already beginning to produce high quality products. This is a situation that American workers should fear. Go into a Walmart and try to find somet...

Re: My new custom leverlock
Thanks for the comments1 The more I play with this piece the more I like it. I have a lot of leverlocks, mostly Hubies, and this is the most solid one I own. It's funny that the Paki knives that typically come over here are put together so poorly. When encouraged and paid well Pakistanis do a very n...

Re: My new custom leverlock
It does have more useable blade to overall size ratio, Al. But, as you point out, that ain't sayin' much. JB

Re: My new custom leverlock
Hey Jerry! Thanks for the welcome back. It would make a nice EDC if you like a big knife. I've had it in my pocket all day and I think a .45 Auto weighs less. I actually really like a knife with some weight. Some of you might remember that one of my favorite carrys is a German paratrooper which is w...

My new custom leverlock
About a year ago I bought a leverlock made in Pakistan. ...all stainless with fake stag. Of course, it left much to be desired in terms of build quality but was heavy duty and functioned well. I thought it had potential though. Since then I was able to get in touch with a custom shop there specializ...

Re: Let's make a leverletto
Thanks again Bill. I know your tip was for assembeling the kit but I tried it on my two Pluses with good results. The slightest removal of steel from the blade/backspring joint made my knive almost perfectly straight. I sacrificed very slight up and down play but I'm happy. I've noticed that we all ...

Re: Let's make a leverletto
Thank Bill!.. I thought of that but I was afraid it would create slight up & down blade play - no??

Re: Let's make a leverletto
Beautiful job Sniper, thanks for sharing your talent! I've said this before. The Leverletto Plus is an example of something that was all ready perfect being improved. One very slight flaw in my Leverletto Plus' is that they are not perfectly straight (slight banana). It doesn't seem like the kit wil...
