Re: aga 11" ebony picklock

How could they possibly show all the variations in natural handle materials? Sounds like you just have a bone to pick, and want to gripe. I apologize. I thought it was obvious that I was trying to make light of the subject by adding the (laughing) and lol joke about childhood dinners. I often forge...

Re: aga 11" ebony picklock

Sorry Bill but I'm really not convinced you'd be happy with this piece after spending $300 on it... And if you tried re-selling it as new with the pictures OP provided instead of the stock photo of a cherry-picked one from 3knives, along with an accurate description of what's "not perfect" about it...

Re: aga 11" ebony picklock

Maybe I have yet to reach the "plateau" of collecting yet. My first switchblade was a $10 Rizzuto bought in a rollerskating rink bathroom as a kid. Bought my 2nd from Edge Co. for $20 around 1980 (or so). Today, I've learned (somewhat) to know the difference in quality between those and a $300+ AGA,...

Re: Garage Find 13" Mauro

Wow, that's a nice Rizzuto too! You say you were "cleaning boxes out of your garage" and found these in those boxes? Were the boxes yours from the past, or former home owner's boxes? I can't imagine anyone actually leaving these behind (I'm sure it can happen). Are you a collector and just forgot yo...

Re: aga 11" ebony picklock

Did you order it directly from AGA or did you get it from a dealer. Either way I'd suggest contacting the seller and tell them what you've found and give them a chance to correct (repair or replace) the faults. If they ignore you then you're stuck and you have my sympathies but give the seller a ch...

Re: aga 11" ebony picklock

I know the feeling of waiting on such a piece to arrive from so far away only to be disappointed on it's arrival. Very frustrating, and the thoughts of returning it so far away can be even worse. By the pics., its obvious that the liner track is warped out of shape somehow, not straight. The safety ...

He is also a very nice and helpful and knowledgeable guy. He took the time to helped me on a small project, he even sent me some spring steel at no charge. Very humble guy. As new as you can see that I am to TB, Jeremy actually sent me a beautiful Rizzuto for me to check out before I purchased! Nat...

JulesVane: Depends on what condition the knife is in when I receive it. Can be anything from plain commercial polishing paste like Maas (local Ace Hardware store) to green buffing compound on an 8" wheel to 4 micron diamond polish on a 1'Dremel buff. I cover the scales with blue painter's tape unti...

Re: Blade pictures,WOW!

Viking: Thanks for the compliment. As long as the metal is in decent shape I can usually get it cleaned up pretty well. A lot of the knives I collect are just "grubby" from poor handling. All I do is let the shiny out. :D DonC Don, if you should see this older post...please let me know how you "let...

Geez George. A 32 inch switchblade made it past airport security (or, lack there of)? I guess I worry too much.
