Those are all beautiful bowies, even the rush job.
I remember reading Bagwell's articles in SOF.
I still have a few copies of SOF from that time period somewhere, now I'm going to have to go find them.

There are some videos on Youtube.
These seem to be budget-friendly folding knives from that cutler, maybe comparable to Opinel.

Yeah, I think that’s from China.
Where did you get it, if I may ask?

NCDude:
Yes, when I first bought it, the edges were quite a bit lighter. It has aged nicely, I like the look.
Minimal grinding on the front side for the button and safety.
At this point, the stag is probably worth more than the rest of the knife.

C Jul Herbertz switchblade
This is the first switchblade I ever bought, in the early 80’s.
It has the shorter, German-spec blade, brass ear on the back front bolster and pretty nice stag scales.
Not uncommon, but for me it’s been a keeper.

Re: Chinese swing guard project
😆 No, I’ll either use something with a much smaller head, or I might, once I get the scales installed, cut them near flush and grind them down. Either peen them or just leave them flush, since I also tapped the holes in the scales. These were the right size for the tap I used and I had a bunch of ‘e...

Re: Chinese swing guard project
Ok, the front scale is glued. I dropped it on a tile floor and it hit just right to overstress the weakest point. ☹️ Had to use two layers of spacer material. Don’t like the look; it needs a thicker spacer. Scale and spacer will be replaced. But I’m gonna keep moving on this. Still need to cut and f...

Thanks John.
I’ve glued it, should be enough to at least finish the project.
