Re: Knox Switch Blade Patent 35958

Its a 1960s “fulcrum” release stiletto. The marking is “INOX” in an oval. These were certainly made by the Master craftsman Elio DiBin. Back then the Italian Craftsmen worked as young boys in the family cutlery shops and then went to school and received a degree and a Diploma for being a Master Cutl...

Re: Problems with SharperDeals

It’s not Bob’s fault. It’s really sad what happened to him. He’s a good guy but had/has health problems and it’s sad it will never be the same for him. Yeah, I guess I wasn't really considering all that, I'm a relative newcomer and I don't fully know the history of some of these guys who have been ...

Re: Problems with SharperDeals

It's weird the pictures are all cut up and no information when you click on the individual auctions.. also no sign of the regular sellers like bernie or HDC big_slim.. great avatar, I haven't seen that picture Mike Hi Mike, I used that image in my Latama Legend book. Here is a full picture of it. C...

I agree Mike! It’s the best looking one of the three. If it only had a button it would be even better! I asked Angelo to make one with a button...

Re: Inox & identification?

Attempting to collect vintage is quite the learning experience for sure! Know that saying: 'If it walks like a duck....etc"? I'm not quite sure that applies to this hobby. If there was the same Maniago craftsman that spent time producing for Coricama (for example) and every piece was of the same qu...

My honest opinion on all the Japanese picklocks and swing guards and minis...I think they were all made in Japan. lol, I agree with you that all the Japanese knives were made in Japan. Lol!!! I meant to say those that look Italian but appear Japanese are more than certainly made in Japan and not It...

Re: RARE, 9” horn handled early “Rizzuto”

My honest opinion on all the Japanese picklocks and swing guards and minis...I think they were all made in Japan. I say this because based on my research the Japanese picklock copies of the Italian stilettos began in the late 1950s. The Japanese picklocks started being made before the Italian swing ...

Re: Little bo/bc

Something kind of weird just occurred to me about these knives: despite their general inferior quality, they almost all seem to be in excellent condition. Am I imagining that? I’ve come across a many used ones. I found on that had fake ivory colored handles with the MF/FM butterfly stamp and it was...

Re: Little bo/bc

The ones with cities on the handles are often called "Tourist Knives". I always called the solid colors ones that too, though that might not be correct. And other than being cheaper boc/s, they aren't related to Rizzutos. I have been calling the a tourist knife too. Not sure where the term card kni...
