Re: 13 inch Italian Stiletto firing slow, any way to fix?
13s are notorious for weak deployment. If you're willing to carry a 13 in your pocket (which in my opinion is too large) are you willing to carry a 15? The 15s have an entirely different more stout body, and typically a stronger deployment. They won't be as fast as a 9, but they really let out a sol...

Re: I'd get a burn before I'd get a cut
If that blade is shiny, it's likely 420 Stainless. Since you got a new one, which is adequate, the point is moot, but you could take a Lansky to your new one also after/if it dulls. Set the edge angle down to 17 degrees and see if that doesn't work for you. -Gort Thanks Gort The reason I asked is th...

Re: I'd get a burn before I'd get a cut
Again, you can sharpen them. I use a Lansky, for me it works fine. Sharpening a collectable Stiletto may reduce it's market value, if you care, so if you find a Latama, and you want to resell it later, don't sharpen it. The way the blades are ground, and their material will make major differences in...

Re: I'd get a burn before I'd get a cut
New Italian Stilettos don't typically come with sharp blades, so you may be disappointed, but you can get a Burn with a razor sharp edge http://www.burnknives1.com/homestartpage2.html. If those are too extreme, you could try a Protech Godfather, very sharp. very pointy , a magnitude less expensive, ...

Re: Selling off part of my collection-PICS
I noticed in a previous post you were selling in groups. Would you consider selling a single knife?

Re: Clones, Copyrights, Patents and to Buy or Not
To sensitive for this group to discuss, bwahahahahahahaha. I'll give you my opinion of the center questions. "Does this hurt ..anyone". It might hurt initial sales of a release, simply because the uneducated won't know the difference and will want perceived value for their dollar. It only takes a co...

Re: In Prague
Since we're being pedantic, I thought Metamorphosis was a not so subtle analogy of how we might expect to be treated as we become more and more infirmed with age. Maybe I shouldn't have read that during a Vitamin A bender. I love Kafka's sardonic irony, none the less. And now back to Knives. Jim, If...

Which is pretty silly since they wouldn't make a particularly good (concealed) weapon.

Re: best folded assisted/switchblade concealed for self defence
I know you asked for an assisted Knife, but there are many good choices of knives with Thumb Studs, by Benchmade, Gerber, SOG......., that can all be deployed one handed . They may be more acceptable. There are also a number of Dual Action knives which can be deployed either by spring or as a standa...

Re: Help""
Well, "pearlex" shouldn't be affected by moisture (or cold other than maybe getting a little more brittle) something else must be going on. Metal in general can have a memory. I guess the liners could be returning to a condition previous to when the knife was assembled. If so, you should probably ju...

Re: Help""
Are they horn scales? Horn can dry (and shrink irregularly), this can put enough strain on the liners to pull the blade alignment out. With your AC on most of the time, you've likely got drier air. Keeping them sealed in baggies should keep the horn from drying out though. Sometimes a mineral oil so...
