Re: Little Mauro Mario from pawn shop
Well dang, I'm feeling better and better about this all the time. Does anybody know if this is an uncommon or rare stamp for a Mario? As for my secret... #1...play up every flaw in the knife no matter how small. #2...act like you're not that interested because this "brand" of knife is common as dirt...

Re: Little Mauro Mario from pawn shop
Thanks Thom. This is only my third vintage picklock. They thought it needed work because the blade wouldn't close when they pushed the button. They also had a white handled Rizzuto in decent shape for $200. that I passed on.

Little Mauro Mario from pawn shop
Just picked this up a couple hours ago at a local pawn shop. 6 3/8in open, D stamped liner. fires great and locks up like a bank vault! That's the good, the bad is safety doesn't work, crack on front scale and chip on back, few little spots and swish marks on blade but not bad. Blade is full, was ve...

Heads up swingguard collectors
Just saw PVK has new "LATAMA" swing guards not yet on Walt's site. 11in. 5mm backspring and blade.

Re: AGA 10 & 11 inch picklocks
Nice Walts Stu. And it's a red dot too...sweet.
Thanks for the idea of a heat gun Thom. I've heard of guys putting a knife in an oven but that just scares the crap out of me. I mean an oven...really? With my luck it'd come out looking like a burnt weeny!

Re: AGA 10 & 11 inch picklocks
Those are sweet 13's Stu. Is the one on the right from early the 2000's run? I love how the horn is rounded on the sides like vintage knives.

Re: AGA 10 & 11 inch picklocks
Those are beautiful Ron, I love the bone-esque horn myself.. here’s a couple 13” AGA picklocks in a sympathetic vein. Ya like bone -esque? How about this 13. This is the only one I've seen with that horn on both sides. Sadly the horn on the front has curled away really badly from the liner. I'd lik...

Re: AGA 10 & 11 inch picklocks
Really both beautiful Ron! Though I love them both, I have a real soft spot for the 10"-5mm pieces in particular. They are some fantastic knives! I feel the same about the 10's myself Chris. There's just one thing that bugs me about both the 10's and 11''s and that's the step down on the guard bols...

AGA 10 & 11 inch picklocks
My favorite AGA picklocks. The horn on these is some of the best I've seen. I really like how closely matched they are front and back too. The 11in. is the actual knife in the pics and video on their web site.
