There is a German gravity knife group on Facebook. The fellow that runs the group does repairs on these. He is much more reasonable that I would be if I repaired one.
Springs breaking is a problem with these. The springs are stainless steel, which does not make durable springs.

I've noticed many broken type 1 gravity knives offered for sale, but don't recall seeing a broken type 2. I would consider buying another one if one comes ...
