Re: Help I.D. this swing guard?
Did Frank make the 9" swinguards? I always assumed it was another Maniago maker. I know Frank made the 11" and I always noticed a quality difference between the 9" and 11" modern swinguards. Are there 9" with Frank's stamp? Maybe I just never owned one. In general I always felt the modern 11" swingu...

Re: Open Mouth Fish
It's a shame Tony S couldn't fly straight, his work is incredible. I've never owned an open mouth. There was one in a private collection I remember drooling over. I think it was pre 1950's and a multi blade camper model.

That's a really cool old stamp from Maniago Italy. Used in the 1950's and 60's.

Re: Latama's New Offerings
He has the big 24" listed again. By the time I saw it the knife was sold. Anyone know if Walt was just selling an old one or if he's going to do another run of those?

Re: Found - Need Info
Great knife! A 13" kris CIZ is a pretty rare piece. Collectable and $$ wise it's very hurt by the edge side of the kris blade being ground down and sharpened. I've seen quite a few old knives with the extra bolster pin. It was usually done as a mod by the owner because of a loose guard. The other en...

Re: 10cm CiZ Bayonet Mini
Wow, that is spectacular, congrats!!!! These old 10cm's are super rare. Add that stamp and the bayo blade and you've got a major score! All the examples I can think of are daggers. We see some images of bayo mini's in catalogs like Latama but rarely see the knives pop up. As for stamps I think I've ...

Looks like that knife spent too much time in the shipping container and melted. Hope he got a discount

Re: CORICAMA Transitionals/Swivel Bolsers / South America?
Very cool set! I've always thought the coricama's from the 60's were very interesting knives, think it's the first time i've seen a set of them in one place.
There are a few 12cms out there, finding the 18cm is always a tough one.

Re: Intro from new fan of TalkBlade
Thanks for sharing the story and the photo, the photo is a classic! Your Dad had very good taste in knives. Even without knowing the stamps I can see plenty of rare variations and some amazing horn. Glad you took the time to post all this stuff here.

Jules...Jerry Skelton was one of the best. True southern gentlemen that loved high end knives. Spending time with him at the shows was always a highlight for me.
