Re: Head on at 60 mph

Damn, Sam! I want you to kick back and get well. Get some massage therapy (not one with the "happy ending"). Lots of external alcohol rubs and relaxation, and get checked for internal injuries and/or hematoma.

Stick around, champ.

Re: Blackjacks, Flat Saps and other impact self-defense implements.

D3 Protection is reintroducing the early "bad detective" blackjacks made from three types of hide, including Kangaroo leather. They can also make a blackjack with a cable in the handle, instead of a spring. (This allows the lead end to remain in contact with the subject's skull after he/she has been ...

In Susan E Hinton's book "The Outsiders," Johnny Cade was said to have stolen his from a hardware store.

Re: Flea market tease !

The silver pocket automatics are the little of my dreams. Double-ended knives that serve as fingernail cleaners, twine cutters and general purpose pocket usitlity blades are what fill my bucket checklist.

Could anyone imagine...

A "Big Daddy" Barlow knife made into a button open/close automatic? I thought that it would be kind of "retro" cool.

Thoughts? Comments?

This American maker produces excellent quality "attitude adjusters":

Those are nice, but expensive. I bought two more blackjacks (one is 14 ounces and the other is 10 ounces. They're rounded lead cylinders mounted on springs wrapped in polished leather. The rest ...

Blackjacks, Flat Saps and other impact self-defense implements.

Does anyone else have these? I have a Denver 4-ply Flat Sap and a light(er) 8-ounce Blackjack. (I am also acquiring another 14-ounce Blackjack.).

These are excellent "attitude adjusters" when people get "physically stupid". :o

Inexpensive Chinese "working knives".

I don't see the downside of buying inexpensive Chinese working knives. They are simple automatic knives that.

a) Aren't stilettos,
b) Are not more than $30.00
c) Are useful as tools.

A plastic-handled Chinese variant of the lever-operated bolster release knife that, if broken, can be readily ...
