Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

That’s very cool Thank :D Nice, and another interesting attribute of the knife is the clip point blade. Most of those I have seen have a spear point blade. Jim Thank you, yes I haven't seen any other with this clip point blade it's strange like for the cat stamp  Like you all the leverlocks ...

Thanks for him :)
Yes it has style and this bowie blade shape has a swedge that you can't see well in the photos.
This is the first time I've seen this blade shape on a leverlock with this handle

Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

It's late but here are some photos of the knife in question, the cat stamp, the reel stag handle is magnificent in my opinion :D It's the only one with this type of handle combined with a clip point/Bowie blade that I've seen all over the internet (Facebook, forum, AAPK etc).If you have additional i...

Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

I couldn't say I still haven't found any information about this cat stamp..
However, I don't think this was a ploy because the French preferred French switchblades at the time :P

Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

Exactly, it's true that the mercator has a cat or a feline but actually I don't think there is a link between these two knives :|
I don't understand why it says ROSTFREI on mine if the cat's head stamp was intended only for the French market

Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

I post these pics in the hopes that it helps with the identification (same stamp as the OP's knife). I came across this knife a few years ago while looking for "cat" tang stamps for someone, but I've never been able to identify it. The person selling the knife described it as Italian-made for the F...

Re: Help Identifying a cat's head tang stamp

I don't know who used the cat stamp, but the knife was made by G.O. Massaro in Maniago, Italy. Hello Bill :D For the moment I only have these two photos here because the person deleted the ad I didn't have time to take screenshots but the handle is exactly like the one Killgar showed, but the blade...

Re: Frenchi94 switchblade collection

In the switchblade book "Coletello a Scatto Antico Italiano Switchblade", which Frenchi shows a portion of the cover in his opening post, there is a two-bladed knife on the cover with a nub on the tip of the blade. In the book the author explains that such knives sold in Italy at the time needed to...
