Very interesting. The hole pattern is different than on the production ones.

(The countersinking is more similar to the 45 series). Apparently they had to widen the countersinking in the 42 handles because they were having trouble with the release from the moulds during the casting process.

Ummmm yeah.

Is there an extra '1' at the beginning of those prices?

The Piranhas:
For a ABS scales and 440B steel? Are you kidding? Compare with Protec?

As for the leverletto:

At those prices, the handles better be machined, not cast aluminum (and they look cast too me).

I'm not surprised. I've debated picking one up, but even at the lower closeout and factory second pricing, I'm not sure whether it's worth the bother. Just looking at the pictures, the blade grind isn't at the same level as the benchmades, the tolerances (handle blade fit) aren't at the same level, ...

Technically, "fully forged" should mean: Blade forged to shape from barstock. Finish grinding only. (as in, not cut out on a bandsaw out of a flat sheet) Bolsters forged to shape. If you're saying fully forged, I'd say liners and bolsters should be unitary as well, not pinned or soldered together. -...

Since the handgun ban I doubt the number of "Special Licenses" issued in "Merry Olde" excedes triple digit :!: They are VERY limited and STRICTLY controlled. For all practical puposes handguns are illegal in England but exceptions exist in SOME parts of the U.K [carrying on ones person for self-def...

If you're going to go handle the knife at a local dealer, I think you owe them the courtesy of at least considering purchasing the knife there. The entire Chesapeake Knife and Tool chain just closed down, in no small part due to internet sales. Now, part of Chesapeake's problem was their pricing, MS...
