Re: ROMO with faux lock

Yes as I mentioned above these are slip joint knives. There were never automatic Romo stamped knives with the slip joint. Terry Levigne did make some as you mentioned. I was responding to the point that there were switchblades made like this. I pointed out the two that I have. I never said that eit...

Re: ROMO with faux lock

Check out eBay item 114825863292 -- it's a vintage Italian "Romo" brand manual-open stiletto with a fake lock.... it looks like an ordinary stiletto lock, but there is no "doughnut hole" or pin to go in. I don't think I've ever seen this before; and I have to wonder if any switchblades were made li...

JimBrown257 wrote: Mon May 24, 2021 10:15 pm Are your Medicis the ones with the slightly diagonal Rostfrei stamp?
No sir. Block letters that r left to right on back tang. No angle. There is a blank oval positioned above center the word ROSTFREI. No front tang stamp.

Re: "Marca Oro" -- 1950s switchblade

That's a very nice find indeed. Most Excellent on the Marca Oro. I'd like to know where your flea market is. The mid-TN area doesn't have crap for Gun and Knife Shows or flea markets.

JimBrown257 wrote: Thu May 20, 2021 12:56 am Do they make two side-by-side backsprings? I have seen that on some vintage American bo/cs but I can't remember if Mikovs or Medicis had one or two.
The 2 Medicis that I have r single lockback back springs.

JimBrown257 wrote: Sun May 16, 2021 3:25 am Does it have something like the two Mikov springs?
Not sure what Mikov springs look like as I don't own one or seen Mikov knives in person. But I have attached a picture showing the springs of the Vendetta springs as they sit in the knife well.

Re: French Vendetta

I am pretty sure I see a leaf spring in the larger black one. And any knife with the button through the pivot like the smaller one would have to have a leaf spring. Hey Jeremy - I have one of these and mine actually has two leaf springs. The setup is the same as a couple of other small knives that ...
