It was three and a half years ago, so I don't recall the details..... either I couldn't find a working email address,

Just dug out my Marfione Dirac and decided to see
what's available online these days. The answer is:
Mostly a lot of counterfeits.

One outfit, called "steeledgeblades" (what a stupid name!) even touts a full kit -- fancy box, zippered pouch, metal 'certificate', the whole thing.

Apparently the handles are aluminum. I could swear that I saw a listing that described rubber grips; but now I can't find any such thing.

I still think the button placement looks less than ideal.

My ProTech Godfather has a fairly centered button.
It's even a bit closer to the blade channel ...

Knifeshop states that the blade steel is D2; then further down, that it is M390. As with many Chinese products,
you can never be sure what it really is.

However I find it hard to believe that the blade is actually M390, because it's a more expensive steel. Is anyone naïve enough to fall for a ...

Didn't find any active listings for the Hubertus 10" slim
on Perry's or Apple Valley; and only one on AAPK.

Sort of shocked at the asking price..... last time I paid any attention to these, they were around 350 (which seemed really high at the time)..... I never even saw any in the
400 to 499 ...

Dunno exactly how old they are, but I have two of
the 10" with brass (or brass-like) bolsters.

Chad --- Celluloid is, by all accounts, highly unstable. Storing your knife in a container made of an incompatible plastic can cause the celluloid to crumble away. With thousands of different plastics in existence, it's a complete crapshoot.

You might consider buying a few archival-quality bags ...

Be sure you read the entire section on determining the condition, and using this information to grade the knife in order to estimate a value --- all of this is at the beginning
of the book.

Also, search for "Schrade Walden" on AAPK, Perry's, etc ...

Looks like plastic to me. Hold an ordinary straight pin (i.e. "dressmaker's pin") in a pair of pliers and heat the tip over
a flame for 15 seconds. Touch the tip to an inconspicuous place on the material, and sniff.
If it smells like plastic, then it is. If it smells sort of like burning hair ...
