It's genuinely helpful to discover that the most knowledgeable group of collectors in the country
have never seen this marking before!
Maybe I've found another 'unicorn' like the M.O. !!
(Probably not..... but it sure would be nice! )

whip ~~ Since I don't have the knife in front of me right now, I can't say how true the photo color is. You know as well as I do that you can take 3 different photos of the same knife and it will look like 3 different knives. Plus my color perception is impaired. Could be anything!

I personally find "Springer Knife" stamped bolster to be quite uncommon. I really can't recall seeing that before, myself.
Exactly what aspect is unusual? Is it because it's in English? Or are there other phrases in English that are more common on bolsters; and just the specific phrase ...

JV ~~ as stated in the OP, the blade was frozen shut.
The blade could have been marked 'Privateigentum von Heinrich Himmler' and I wouldn't know. I've requested that all replaced parts be returned with the knives, so I'll find out when everything comes back....

The shellpuller is currently being repaired by Bill -- including a replacement (spear point) blade. I will post photos when I have the knife back.
In the meantime, can any of you shellpuller guys offer an educated guess as to the age of this knife? This is the first shellpuller that I've ever ...

I know this has no bearing on value
I would not be too quick to assume this. If other knives from this general time period have similar marks that are accepted by respected authorities in the field as indeed being salesman markings, it could absolutely add to the value of the knife.

I always think it's a nice bonus when designs in the horn scales appear as if deliberately created to complement other aspects of the knife. This piece has those great "bow tie" patches that bracket the release button -- what a terrific look! I bet the craftsman who made this got a kick out of it ...

I didn't catch it in the video either! --but it's the magic answer! The knife works perfectly! But honestly, it's the oddest, most awkward & convoluted system for opening and closing a switchblade that I ever hope to see....!
Thanks to everyone for helping out with this!
