Since I am the only person who has declared sending a PM, and the owner has stated that an offer of $600 was received, it would be easy to jump to the conclusion that I made that offer. That would be a false conclusion.

I don't know the meaning of "hefted aluminum" either; but it's being used by Heretic Knives also, so apparently it isn't proprietary of Marfione.

Does anyone have production numbers for the second run of 'Shark' knives that were put out by the Dolphins brand?

The story is that the original run was 100 pieces; but 20 didn't pass QC and were pulled. So, another batch was made. I'd like to find out how many were made in the new batch; if any ...

I can't help with an origin; but I have a couple observations:

I was immediately struck at how unbalanced the knife appears.... very handle-heavy. I get the impression that
the blade has not only been sharpened, but that it has lost substantial mass. If the blade was proportional to the handle ...

I looked at a lot of those Taureg type daggers -- although
I occasionally saw a dagger that maybe had one element that's similar to my knife, I didn't find any that shared multiple elements. A few had wood handles wrapped in leather; but I didn't see any with stacked leather washers like mine ...

It was three and a half years ago, so I don't recall the details..... either I couldn't find a working email address,
or they never responded, or something..... I was very interested in asking about it, but for some reason along those lines, my efforts were thwarted.
