Re: Marfione at the flea !!

fastr ~ That's what I was afraid of.... I am now attempting to contact the folks at Microtech to see if there are any differences
between the real article and the fakes that will allow me to determine with certainty which I have. Stay tuned.....

Re: Marfione at the flea !!

. Well, SOMEBODY is buying Marfione Custom knives, because everything that I've seen online is sold out. Regardless of how well it's made, I can't get too excited over this piece simply because it's so small. The double-edge dagger blade is clearly a weapon design; but how effective is a three-inch ...

Re: Marfione at the flea !!

. (This post has just been updated to reflect additonal information) My knife looks like a Microtech because Tony Marfione founded the company: "Beginning in 1994, out of an apartment and later a storage bay in Vero Beach, Florida, Microtech® Knives was created by Anthony Marfione and Susan Marfione...

What exactly is a "2.0 version" and how does it differ from its predecessor...? Thanks!

Marfione at the flea !!

. So, after the disappointing S.M.Z. a couple of weeks ago, I may have had a little bit better luck last Sunday. I traveled quite a distance to a flea market that I have not visited for a long time; and to my surprise, I discovered the knife pictured below. The seller was asking 400, I countered wit...

I didn't even realize that Italian 13s were hard to find. As recently as a couple years ago I would encounter them fairly regularly.

Re: Stag Made Italy 6

. I bought a group of knives a year or two ago that included an identical ricasso stamp. Now that it's FINALLY stopped raining, I have to hustle to get my vegetables planted; but as soon as I have some spare time I will either track down the exact post that showed my knife, or I'll just take some ne...

Re: S.M.Z. picklock

. Thanks guys..... of course, I was hoping that it was something better, but the bail feature was a strong hint that it was Japanese. Other than the micro-switchblades with a tiny 1" blade (or less), has anyone ever seen an Italian piece with a bail on the rear bolster? I'm surprised that the backsp...

S.M.Z. picklock

. First vintage spring-knife of the season! Just picked up this S.M.Z. picklock at the flea for five bucks. It needs work…. the spring is gone, and possibly the sear mechanism is defunct as well. Bail for keychain is missing. The backspring is bizarrely warped. (Odd patent number: 31.9502 ) The blad...

There are the guns, the wheat pennies, and the Southwestern pottery.

Sell the wheat cents and the pottery, and buy more knives.
