Re: (4) broken vintage knives
Exactly what aspect is unusual? Is it because it's in English? Or are there other phrases in English that are more common on bolsters; and just the specific phrase 'spring knife' that is uncommon...?
.
I'm sure it's just my personal lack of seeing "Spring over Knife" before. We more often see ...

Re: (4) broken vintage knives
I personally find "Springer Knife" stamped bolster to be quite uncommon. I really can't recall seeing that before, myself. Best of luck with the knife. I'm sure it will be nice!

7.25" BO/BC Bargeon
Here's several of the 7.25" (7.5" w/bail) button open/button close knives from Thiers, France. A few of the scale styles in a molded/checkered black plastic, faux stag and an all metal model. There's a more uncommon molded/checkered cream colored plastic model out there, that I've never acquired ...

Re: (4) broken vintage knives
I'm rather surprised the German shell puller is stamped "Spring Knife". I had thought the bottom/rear bolster stamp of Springer over König (King) were most often stamped Weidmannsheil. Maybe I've been mistaken. The non original blade added, might certainly turn off the die hard collector value, but ...

Re: "Robi" Klaas
We've seen many people corrected that called them "Robi" Klaas knives over the years. An understandable mistake, as it seems so uncommon to abbreviate the name Robert as Robt. But, now that some company is actually stamping them as Robi? I foresee many future debates on the proper name, while ...

Re: Ring Cutlery/B Svoboda
Those are gorgeous, Matt! I do have a tiny Japanese picklock with Ring Cutlery in the B. Svoboda stamp, but none of the few Italians I have don't. In fact, I don't think I've ever found one to be available with Ring Cutlery in the stamp. Must be more elusive than just B. Svoboda or even B. Svobody.

Thanks so much, Matt!Panzerfaust wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 1:29 am Another great one Chris and yes, that was a California importer. Another stamp I think was used by them on post-ban manuals was Liberty.

Re: 9" B. Svoboda
From time to time I've come across several Svoboda German Springers which were solid knives. I always wondered were they manufactured by Svoboda themselves in Solingen or contracted to whoever???
I "think" B. Svoboda/Ring Cutlery was a California importer back in the 50's- I don't think they ...
