Rare French Knife? Flash Deposited
Hi Gang, I have a chance to bid on this one at a local auction house, any body got a clue on age,or any info? As you can tell it is French from the instruction sheet. Marking on the blade: Flash Deposited stainless. I'm not sure why the word "stainless" is not "inox" if it IS a french knife. The scal...

Re: switchblade sales
Very interesting! Even if your state allows them now, the federal law prohibits interstate commerce of them unless they are for certain persons. Many small guys and FFLs ( small ones) take a chance breaking this law. I am surprise a chain store would? I know when the law changed in NH Al said the s...

Re: Bargeon Scale Repair Question.
Most of the French knives made by many different companies looked similar and had the utilitarian black checkered plastic scales. Bargeon stamped their knives as such, as did Begon. I'm not sure who made that particular knife, but I've seen Bargeon catalogs and that model isn't in it. Either is the...

Re: Bargeon Scale Repair Question.
This won't help with the repair, but that's not a Bargeon. Not sure who made them but have a few and never seen one with their stamp and they stamp their knives. Hey Autoknife, Check out the post from Wed Jun 22, 2016 6:33 pm. Titled " No Name Bargeon? " Or just copy/paste address below http://www....

Re: Bargeon Scale Repair Question.
Hey Gang, I SWEAR I did not see this when I did my search yesterday, I guess I was looking with my fingers, not my eyes :) I will try it and let you know how it works. I will see if some one locally caries it so give me some time. J-B Weld 50139 Plastic Bonder Body Panel Adhesive and Gap Filler Syri...

Re: Bargeon Scale Repair Question.
BFR , this product works very well and would be darn near undetectable on your knife but gets pricey and not available retail , youll need the activator.... if you know an auto body shop can order, this can be sanded and is black.. this knife had a large portion of the handle missing and I repaired...

Bargeon Scale Repair Question.
Hi Bill and the Gang, I was reviewing member "omega" post named: "Front Scale Repair - 23cm Walt's Latama in Black Teflon" Omega was fixing a hair line crack, I just picked up a old Bargeon with a big crack in the scale. Looking back on omega's post I don't think super glue will work because of the ...

That is what I thought, but was not 100% sure, just figure I would throw it out there.Bill DeShivs wrote:The only time there is any significant pressure on the spring is when it is used during opening and closing.
At lest I got John thinking about it. Thanks Bill for clearing that up!

Out of the Front Storage Question.
Hi Gang, Just wanted your opinion on OTF storage. If you are not sure what kind of firing mechanism it has (I have an old French Bargeon and Le Superoto). Are you better off misfiring it into a piece of cardboard so the blade is in a neutral position ( I.E. you have to pull the blade out to reset it...

Re: Spanish leverlock age?
Hi Ian,
If you wanted to try to repaint the blade, I would suggest "1shot" Lettering Enamel.
This is the choice of sign painters and custom pinstripers. DO NOT USE "BULLETIN"PAINT!
Make sure you get the LETTERING ENAMEL !

Re: MP INOX tang stamp
Jackalope,Ross I believe the MP knife marking could relate to moletta knives definitely the last picture jackalope posted. I knew I'd seen it somewhere but I've only seen moletta marked with the 35MP inox marked . Ian Hi Ian, When I think of the "moletta" I think of the ones that had black and/or o...
