8’ Inox D stamped bo/bc “Swallow Wings/Derby” bolsters 2 piece spring wasp dark horn
This neat little “Swallow Wings” bolsters wasp body switchblade just came in yesterday, I’m very happy! it has real nice super rocksolid lock up, very smooth action. The mirrored finish flat grind blade is to my liking. Looks like good quality. Not much design in the horn but its perfect dark horn for a wasp body I think. Well here it is! Take a look.

Nice knife. But don’t think it is considered a derby bolster. I could be mistaken.

That knife has a fine combination of features. BO/BC, wasp body. Plus, based on your comments and the photos it appears defect free. I consider it a great acquisition.

I believe that style of bobc is actually referred to as a “swallow wing”

Yes it is defect free completely! All it needs is a little cleaning right now on the inside spring. But since it’s in the category of show piece. I’m not going to do the cleaning yet. Nor do I flick it open only to test it which it passed with flying colors. I will definitely have to flick her open on occasion though! If I do decide to get it cleaned I’m definitely going to have it done professionally.

Thank you for the info. I was reading how the knives look like a derby hat, and that’s the origin of how it got its name. But I like them both, the “swallows wings” and the derby!

Really nice Picklocksrock! What's stamped on the rear tang? Patent over No. 460 ? BTW: one of your photos makes it look like it's a left handed knife

Where in the world did your term swallows wings come from? Was it made up recently by someone you know?
