Walt Latama 9” dagger swivel rams horn

Post by picklocksrock »

This is one of only a few 9ers that I have. I used to mainly collect only 11 inch for the most part. I’ve come to really like the 9s.

I agree about Rams horn, there’s just something about it I really like. The texture, look, and feel of it, is so unique! I had been waiting a very long time for a Rams horn and was extremely pleased when I saw them back for sale.

Very nice 9" - love the Rams Horn and the dagger blade. Here is it's brother, though mine is not stamped Latama like yours.

I really like your knife, a lot! First of all I only have one Latama with the Q mark and they are phenomenal and so tough to come by. Also, I like that Ram horn scale type. One of the first Frank B ram was very similar but it was an 11”

I only have a few Walt's and they are older ones from around 2010-2012, and all but one does have the Q mark. Looking at the newer Walt's and his website, seems the newer production now uses the Latama tang stamp. Interesting. Guess I've been 'out of the loop' on the newer stuff :D

Love the translucence and color! That my favorite part of rams horn . They have a very natural one of kind look a texture, and when i look at the tanslucent polished sides it feels and looks like a living gemstone. Just beautiful, it also doesnt hurt that they usually on a high quality knife. These are beauties for sure, happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thank you! Yes swivel. I don’t know if it’s just coincidence but I truly think the Q mark makes a more special knife. Better fit and finish all the pins smooth and flat and everything is tighter.

You make some good point about the Q knives. Here is a 11" swivel and it's an older knife I've had for some years. Excellent fit and finish, very tight and has the hardest snap of all my Walt's with super tight lockup. Nice heavy knife. Interestingly no red-dot.

Very nice Walt's guys! Texans123, have you ever inquired why the absence of the tiny "W" under Walt's cat's left paw on yours with the no red dot? I have one from 2013, no red dot and no "W". Were all the no red dots missing the "W"?

2 on the left: No "W". 2 on the right with "W"....
