Blade not opening all the way
I have recently gotten this knife from a relative and it seems to not be opening well. I have tried cleaning it with WD40 but it still seems to be getting stuck. I do not have much knowledge on knives, so that is why i am seeking help here.
The knife only opens as seen in the picture when the lever is pushed. It can be manually open.
Other pictures of the knife if it helps.
Thanks in advance

Re: Blade not opening all the way
Put a dab of lithium automotive grease on the tang of the blade-where it contacts the backspring.

I just got around to trying the lithium automotive grease yesterday. It is still not opening correctly by the looks of it

Check the spring, see if it's rubbing on one side or the other. If it is maybe a dab of grease will help. I had trouble with a looker and used the grease and it worked.

Make sure you push the lever down firmly and completely with a tight grip. I carry a leverlock regularly and almost everyone I show the knife too fails to open the knife on the first try because they gingerly push it like a regular push button knife.

Re: Blade not opening all the way
I had a knife kept in a drawer for a whole year untouched .It failed to deploy all the way open. I did the wd40 bath. Then I used compressed air to blow out all the gunk. Then I used Latama quick oils to properly lube it all up the right way. Then I carefully manually worked in the oils into the mechanisms. Viola! The switch blade has opened up all the way without fail for the last ten years. Not one single misfire. Latama oils man! The best oil money can buy.

Re: Blade not opening all the way
Different knives like different lubes. Latama Quick Release is a very good one. Most lever locks seem to prefer grease. Oiling the kickspring is a good suggestion-as most rub the liner on one side.
These Japanese lever locks were not made with the best springs. If you can't get it working, you can send it to me and I'll see what I can do without taking it apart. You don't want to put much money into a repair.
