Kit problem

Post by CharlieC »

I have a forum kit. the backspring sits LOW in the front. So the knife is sway-backed when open. (pre-fitting)

And it won't latch closed. Doesn't even try to grab it.

Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Here is a pic of how the backspring sits. It would be up some with the blade in, but not much. Sits lower than the liner spines.

Thanks, Charlie

Have you tried it with the blade and both scales? If so, and it still sits low, you can beat the tab that rests on the blade with a hammer & anvil to widen it slightly.
I have never seen this problem, so I'm thinking you may be using the wrong pin (it's the steel one), or have not tried it with both liners in place.

Always use the pin that exactly fits the hole, or nothing will work right.
