Scale Replacement Project

Post by Mr. Chooch »

Hello Bill, let's try it over here. I would like to make a auto knife but use ony stag as the scales. The only problem it that other than stilletto's, most auto's use frames, so what would I have to do? Machine or sand down the frame and glue the stag on top of it? I would like to shoot for a user type of auto like the Companion pictured below.

Something similar to the PT line of GF and GS. But replace more than just the insert. Any ideas?

Thanks

Tony

I understand what you want to do, but I don't think a frame-type knife is the way to go. a lever lock would work, but you would have to keep the front bolster. A Microtech UT6 might be a good choice.
I'll mull it over, and maybe some of the guys here have some ideas.
