It is Asian but either Korea or Twain not Japan for sure. It has a slip in spring that uses a sex pin ( one inserts into the other for easy pinning). They came assembled and with the spring out depending on where they were sold.
It was made in Taiwan. There were many of those around in the 1990s. I had one just like it but with different colored scales I got from a guy who bought it in Mexico circa 1992-1993.
This is not an Edge Kit. It is a Taiwan knife sold with a separate spring.
It has the brass pin and rivet seen under the safety.
that holds in the kickspring.
Called a Sex pin, it is a blind rivet with a press fit cap nut.
But an Edge Kit will have a screw pivot pin, to hold the blade in place.
A Bolt and a Cap Nut with flat head screw driver slots.
And Edge kits did not have a blade sear hole, drilled all the way thru..
The illustrated knife has a shorter blade,
It is not the really short German Legal Blade. . .
The closed knife shows the blade drop point, hiding under the liner.
It seems a bit short, but not the really short "German Legal" blade.
This is NOT a short blade for certain country's legal requirements.
But it is a 2nd or 3rd generation Asian Blade.
Edge Co did not produce a short blade model 120.
Original Edge Kits had an Italian Blade, Italian handle.
Then an Italian blade in a Taiwan Handle, thin brass liners
Then a fully Taiwan knife.
I was a big fan of these actual Edge Kits,
Which dropped in quality as the years went by.
There are probably at least 12 gradual changes to the cheap knife,
as different producers scrimped and saved. . .
I'll have to draw up a quick guide to blade identifffying traits.
