Little Imperial repaired
Here is a little Imperial I repaired and placed back into service.
I had to make a kick spring and while apart, I cleaned it up a little. NFS

This is what an American Pocket Auto is/was all about. Something that is sharp, convenient, and useful at a moment's notice. It may sound strange, but this warms my heart and takes me back to the day when carrying a small automatic was commonplace and the mark of "gentlemanly carry". (That is so "nifty" it almost hurts).
This is a "mid-century" gentleman's pocket accouterment if there ever was one.

Yep, . . . I always loved how (because of the shall-wrap metal underbody embossing)
there was a metal ring showing around the button. (and Safety). . . .
I thought it would be sexy if there was a silver/nickel grommet around buttons on picklocks.
I have a clip point cigar jack about the same size in white pearloid shell wrap,
it's one of my favorites. . .I always wondered if, it was so easy to produce back in the day. .
why is no-one producing these today. . .
I was drawing "other" stuff for Walt, and he was marketing the design to potential fabricators.
It's hard to get anyone to build what you want, they all want to modify the design,
to accommodate the equipment that is most profitable for them.
And they want to produce the assembled knife.
Everyone wants 5 axis CNC direct cutting of the knife parts.
No-one wants to cut a die to stamp out anything for mass production by others.
And 3d metal printing parts shrink. . . They are NEVER the size of the design.
And predicting shrinkage vs part mass with old charts in the machinists/machinery handbooks
doesn't apply to 3d-printing. . .so you have to make 10 various size prototypes. and hope for the best.
My pet peeve is "Everyone" seemingly wants a tactical with pocket clip. . . .(Bull-spit)
I'm a lanyard bail man myself. . .
I'd want a 5inch open cigar jack, shell wrap, lever action, lanyard bail, with manual 2nd blade, like a barlow.

Yeah. . . makes me feel old. . .
And those guys think everything used to build German Lugers, is worthless archaic stone tooling.
And flip side of the coin, I don't want to learn anymore "new" stuff.
If I have to read one more equipment manual, or double check one more programming LISP routine,
I'll freak out and watch Bat Masterson on ME TV at 5:00am and eat cheese mac until I burst. .

Jerry I agree with what you like1

AWWW, it's so cute!
I don't normally go for that style of switches, but I find that one curiously appealing. I especially like the metal borders around the button and safety.
