bug bites

Post by thom »

If I were to buy a knife with bug bites?
1. Can you tell if the bugs are still present?
2. Can/Will it spread to other knives?

If the bug bites are big enough you will see them. If the bugs don't die they will continue to eat. They will probably eat the tastier knives first, just my opinion.

A good soaking with WD 40 will kill off any active worms.

How long do I soak? Will it harm the horn?

Just liberally squirt the knife down, let it sit for about 15 minutes and then dry it off.
It won't hurt the horn.
