Square Button

Post by thom »

Bill, I just bought a Pat Havlin square button, lightly used. The fire button is really hard to push. Is that normal for a square button? I have oiled it, still hard. It will spend it's time in a display case so not a big deal, just wondering if you knew about them?
Thanks,
Thom
PS you are right, PLP Makes best picklock period.

The shape of the button has nothing to do with the functionality. Something else must be going on. I’m sure Bill can enlighten us.

I would try removing as much oil as you can, then putting a dab of lithium grease in the sear hole.
If that doesn't work, contact Pat.

Thanks guys. It seems to be loosening on its own. Or I am just getting used to it. I will try your suggestion Bill.

I’ve had to “break in” a button. I hope your knife is working as it should.
