11" Stag Swinguard - Flat Grind

Post by texans123 »

Hi Gents -
Recently read a few posts with Flat Grind blades so thought I'd post this one. I've had this 11" swinger a long time. Nice thick Stag scales, tight lockup, smooth firing and nice blade. Marked 440 B Stainless. Certain it is a Beltrame based on the fit, finish and feel.
Cheers -
Jeff

Yes, has the slightly lopsided guard that was typical of the pre-Beltrame period. Frank bought the tooling for these knives after the quality had deteriorated over time. Looks like you got a good one, however.

Thanks for the info guys. You mention pre-Beltrame period. Any idea who made these prior to Beltrame buying the tooling? I have a couple of 9" swinguards stamped Stainless Italy that I always thought were Beltrame. I'll post pics of these. Cheers.

Guys - here are the 9" swinguards mentioned earlier. Knives are well made, and fire and lockup nicely. Both have the same stamp = Stainless Italy.
