Behind the tables at the knife show
I was just given this neat ‘collini flylock’ as a thank you for helping to man a friends knife table this weekend. It was my first time on the other side of the table and I have to say I’m not sure which side I like better. It was pretty exhausting and I have a lot more respect for the guys who do it weekend after weekend. Couldn’t help sharing some pictures...

Re: Behind the tables at the knife show
I think I need to come to your shows.... I'm lucky if I see crappy fakes...
That is an awesome gift.

Mike
Thats a great gift .
I havnt seen many of these for sale this side of the pond and I think they have great lines with that nice swedge blade, shaped scales and I love the red switch...its just a cool and different looking knife ....Congrats.
I see there are some balisongs in that third case ...a knife I have always wanted but cannot get hold of over here.
Wish we had shows here with those knives.
Thanks for the pics. and glad you got the great knife for your collection .

Where abouts is this show? trying to get a good feel for the best shows for European automatic knives... been told by more than a few people that Atlanta is more or less modern stuff whereas gator and tulsa are more in tune with the interests of forums like this.
Knee-deep in the hoopla...

Re: Behind the tables at the knife show
Hey Luke, this was just a regular gun & knife show in portland. they have them almost every month out here... next month is the big OKCA (knives only) show in Eugene, OR. It will be my first time attending but I have heard there will be lots of older switches and tons of scale material, etc for sale...

Atlanta has plenty of vintage knives-enough that you can spend 3 days just looking at them.

Re: Behind the tables at the knife show
Oooo priorities- move, get job, go to portland and atlanta and wherever gator is.... wait, forgot one, make money. I looked up your knife laws Ian. Those and the gun laws suck majorly...
Theory crafting here, but if we (3-4 different people) sent individual pieces of a bali to Ian, do we think that could work? Also I'm in for the pot (I'll contribute what I can).

Mike.... kugr
Its really very good of you both to offer those services,I am really humbled by help and offers I have been given here at TB by my American bretheren ....Thankyou both..... but I would buy a good balisong myself if one could be located and shipped .
I especially like the ebony black handles and brass example from the PI's .I really love some of the blade shapes those have but dont know the cost .
The way of sending it sounds good though but would discuss it in a PM with you if we can find one.
Im so sorry if we came off topic Mike.
My best

Re: Behind the tables at the knife show
Not a problem with me Ian most of my older balisong are damaged in some way.. missing inserts or broken scales. Here’s a pic of my nicest with a 9” for size.
