Knifeshop has them "real Italian". Repos??? I was told I was very wrong [on a couple of forums] when I said a friend in High School ['60s] had a bolster release Italian . Even one maker said it was a new and patented design [they are patented] a short time later a maker had a bolster release Italian from the '60s on BA  Someone was wrong somewhere  you decide who it was

No buttons

I saw one of those when I was just a sprout, one of the older kids had one of them, between three of my friends and I we couldn't figure out how to open the damn thing. When the mystery was revealed it just fueled my lust for all things that go SNAP!!

These are bolster release, new versions from last year, good tight lock-ups and easy to fire(after a little filing on the locking pin)

When discussing Italian cutlery and my memory doesn't work, I always say Jndiana.
This is very odd but in Pakistan we have the following:
Jindiana - Punjab 31N 72E  [altitude is also listed].

Hi there Straydog, Im not sure who made these, the only markings on the blade are'STAINLESS' and on the other side of the blade it says :UD96000103A
PATENT

They have solid lock ops with no blade play in any direction and are great for lefties too, If I recall I got these from Bruce (Bebola) or Spyderman.
Maybe you could drop these guys a line and find out more, hopefully a more enlightened Talkblader will have the answer for you.
Good luck. Jagman

They are unique! gotta get one ! :D
I know where I could get one , but , was wondering where "origin of manufacture" was ! I guess it dosen't matter, it'll be a "fun" addition to my small (but growing) collection !
MAN ! I love this hobby !

Straydog,

Vagrant and I are thinking Jindiana. Any other thoughts??

One thing you could do is ask on the KS forum when KS gets their forum back up. Having written this, I seem to remember KS referring to the Fish knives as coming from Frank B. I suppose that meant that they (KS) bought them from Frank, as opposed to the idea that they were actually made by Frank. It is my understanding that all of the new Fish knives are made by AKC, regardless of the tang stamp. So, exercise some caution when interpreting answers like this from KS.

Jim
