Here are some vintage scout type bowies and a lock back folder from the '80's.

The Schrade with the red spacers is a very fine knife.

I agree.
I like the overall size of the knife and the easy to hold handle. You can get a no slip, good hold on the knife.

Those are all 5" blades. I consider that length very handy in a fixed blade knife.

I had the one on the far left . .
it came in a leather sheath with a pocket,
bought it at the Boy Scout headquarters in Pittsburgh in the 1960's
( Dad bought it for me, along with a shirt, belt neckerchief and cap, we wore jeans.)

there was a second knife that was a 4 blade with bale.
the handle scales were shell-wrap with a brown black plastic.
I can't remember if it was Imperial. . .or "Camp-King"

Still have the folder 4 blade. . .
two blades, a bird beak can opener, and a leather punch.

Don't know where the fixed blade ended up. .
probably in a desk drawer in the garage.
