Knife Graveyard

Just watching a cooking programme where they are interviewing a Sushi Chef.Apparantly they have to do an 8 year apprenticeship before they are even allowed to touch a knife! :? What I want to know is,WHAT do they do for 8 years?Also said when the chefs knife is worn right down from the constant sharpening,the chef takes it back to Japan to a special Knife Graveyard! :shock: They return there once a year to say prayers for it! :roll: Amazing fact for the day! :wink: Cheers the spotlight kid. 8)

kitchen cutlery,ill be damned. :roll:

i suppose eight years of doling-out raw fish could take its toll
on the apprentice psyche.
