Skinning critters

Post by Bama »

Don't use an automatic or butterfly knife to skin with. I used a butterfly knife once and almost never did get the ting cleaned up. All the fat and blood in the pivots and around the pins. I couldn't imagine what it would do the inner workings of an auto.

Agreed. There are too many inexpensive(or pricey) knives made for skinning to use any thing else.

A friend of mine used to live in Alaska and he said many people there use a hatchet or skinning axe for large game. It's perfect for bone and gristle.
